a BEAUTIFUL RUIN
havana and varadero
Hemingway. Cuba. Cigars. Rum. Food. Castro. Beaches.
May 2015, I ventured to Cuba, specifically Havana and Varadero. It was on my Top 10 list, and I was so excited with President Obama making it even easier to make a trip to a little island just 90 miles south of Florida. It is one of the few places that ended up being even more magical than I could imagine. For many years, the communist country wasn't even a possibility due to budget restraints. I thought I was going to have to go with an organized tour group and pay $4000+ just for myself to go for a week. With Obama's relaxing of the travel restrictions, I was able to plan and enjoy an eight day Cuban adventure for less than $2500 for two of us. Below you'll find links that explore highlights of my Cuban trip, including travel logistics with info on visas, health insurance, etc. PARTS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION
